JENKINTOWN, Pennsylvania (GBT) — My annual tour of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, originally scheduled for June 19th through 26th has been postponed. The new start and end dates are scheduled to be Tuesday, June 29th through Thursday, July 8th.

The new dates fit better among various holidays and other days of interest. I was happy to be able to spend a part of Father's Day weekend with my parents on June 19th. With the tour dates adjusted, I will be able to spend the 4th of July with my girlfriend and her mother in Harrisburg, where I hear they have an exceptional view of the fireworks. Lastly, the new schedule will offer me the opportunity to visit the Charlotte Darrah Walter Genealogical Library in Sunbury, North Carolina on the first Wednesday in July, when it is open until 8:00 pm.

The itinerary of the trip has been reversed. Whereas I had initially planned to go through Reading toward Sunbury on the first day, I will now be departing toward Lancaster on the first day, head up through Harrisburg for the 4th of July weekend, then head home through Reading from Sunbury on the last days of the trip.

Genealogical destinations for this trip will potentially include: The Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society, The Lancaster County Archives, The Lancaster County Historical Society, the Riverview Cemetery in Lancaster City, the Grider Family Cemetery in Mt. Joy, Mumma Cemetery in Middletown, Dauphin County, the Northumberland County Courthouse, the Northumberland County Historical Society and Genealogical Library, the Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Orchard Hills cemetery in Shamokin Dam, and Wolfs Cross Roads cemetery in the town of the same name. â¬®
