Remembering our loves ones who have passed away.

I'd like to note here the passing of Frederick W. Maurer, which occurred on the 12th of last July, 2022. Fred was an occasional contributor to the First Friday Genealogy Group which I've been attending to the best of my ability since about 2008, and he was a regular contributor to the Northeast Philadelphia History Network (NEPHN), which meets on the first Wednesday evening of most months at the Pennepack Baptist Church on Krewstown Road.

Doris Taylor Doyle, cousin of my grandmother, Joan Harrison Graham, died this past March. She was 91. Doris was one of my earliest family history contacts outside of my immediate family, grandparents, and known cousins. She once sent my grandmother a set of photocopies of old family photographs, including one of David H. Kline surrounded by all of his daughters that was taken around the turn of the 20th century. Doris and I spoke initially on the telephone, and later continued an e-mail correspondence that lasted from 2008 to 2013.

CHERRY HILL, New Jersey (GBT) — William Nathaniel "Bill" Ivers, passed away on March 22, 2022, at the age of 85, and was laid to rest today after a memorial service at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Bill was a long time member of the First Friday Genealogy group that has inspired my research since I first joined all the way back in 2008. Bill was always the most thorough and the most organized among us. When it came his turn to share at each of our monthly roundtables, I always looked forward to something thoughtful.

CHALFONT, Pennsylvania (GBT) â€” Shiela A. Graham Cunningham passed away last month at her home in Chalfont, Pennsylvania, at the age of 92. She was born on January 25th, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Graham, Sr., and Julia Corr Graham. I visited Aunt Sheila home at home in 2014 and received a wealth of family history information. She had numerous clippings and mass cards that offered various leads of investigation, as well as her own baby book, completed by her mother. Aunt Sheila put me in contact with Eleanor Hentschel, who is the the first cousin I met from the McShane branch of the family. At Eleanor's invitation, attended a McShane family reunion in 2018. Sheila, Eleanor, and I sat down together the following year at Eleanor's home and shared more family history.
